Robert, -Coders, I've been thinking about enhancing nsb* to enable people to run it on the SF Compile Farm with (virtually) *zero* additional configuration. As it is now, one has to tweak the local SF CF environment a lot (like in your ~rstory/.profile.d/uname*) before builds can succeed. If you find this aim worthwhile, I see two choices:
1) maintain a template environment outside of CVS (SF CF filesystem, Wiki or whatever) and give clear documentation on how to make use of it 2) maintain a template environment in CVS (dist/nsbrc-sfcf or somesuch) Choice 2) probably makes it easier to use (just tell people to run "dist/nsb-nightly ..."), but clutters CVS with SF CF specific configuration. Also, what about creating a "dummy" nsb user on SF that holds clean up-to-date CVS sources for all branches? At the end, being able to e.g. add nsb testing as a standard easy-to-use procedure to dist/RELEASE-INSTRUCTIONS doesn't sound too bad to me. :-) Feedback highly appreciated. +Thomas -- Thomas Anders (thomas.anders at blue-cable.de) Using Tomcat but need to do more?
