I don't think we're in a position to pick based solely on numbering.
A time frame is probably more likely, say 2-5 years but the number of
releases during that time could be 1-14 for all we know.

I'll even suffer and say a gap of 2 may even make sense.

Of course, it's too late for 5.2,5.3 anyway so we're only talking
about new stuff (5.4 and beyond).

I think the point is that's not necessarily the only time we're going
to run ac cross this.  Making the assumption that the 64-bit issues
are the only ones is not a good way to get out of this argument.
