Welcome. We would be delighted to receive any contributions you might offer. One possibility would be to help in testing the upcoming new release (5.4). If you've got access to any "unusual" architectures, it would be extremely helpful if you could try retrieving the latest pre-release tarball from the project website, build it on any such systems and then run "make test". If you run into errors compiling the source, or if the test fails - then let us know what O/S you're using, and the problems you've seen (and ideally how to fix it!) Another area where you could contribute would be to take a look at the bugs database, and see if there's anything where you might be able to investigate the problem (and ideally provide a fix). Or you could have a look at the "Feature Requests" list, and tackle one of those. If coding isn't your forte, then perhaps have a look at the documentation (either on-line or distributed with the source code), and see if there's anything that isn't particularly clear. The problem with the documentation is that most of those writing it have several years experience with the software, so tend to assume more experience and understanding than a typical "new user". A fresh approach is no bad thing! Or if there's anything else that you'd like to contribute - feel free. We can't promise that we'll necessarily incorporate everything that we receive, but we would certainly be interested in seeing it.
