No - Robert is asking if *lpstat* (run locally on the machine)
reports the status of the printer correctly. We know that
the agent doesn't report this.
The main problem with implementing most MIBs, is finding
out what information to report. If we don't know how to tell
whether the printer is working or not - then we can't code
this into the agent.
At the moment, the relevant code routine is simply:
int printer_status(int idx)
{
return 1; /* unknown */
}
which obviously isn't sufficient!
But the first step to improving this, is finding out how
to tell the status of the printer.
