Are you talking about a string value within a table,
or a scalar object?
   If it's a table, then there are plenty of examples.
It might be worth specifying which table helper you're
planning to use.

There are rather fewer examples of scalar string objects
(and most of those use the older v4 module API).
But 'example/watched.c' includes an example of a
scalar string object - see 'init_watched_string()'

If that's not what you are looking for, you'll probably
need to give us more detail to work with.
