Hi All, I am using
Net-Snmp 5.3.0.1 in my router running in Linux platform. Its running fine. But,
recently I have observed a conflict with the Community Strings. The
configuration of my router is something like
this:Configuration:
SNMPv1 - Read/Write-Test(this is my community
string). SNMPv2 -
Read/Write-Test(this is my community string, which is same as V1 community
string).
Scenario 1
After this I browsed the router with a standard MIB browser. First, I
tried accessing with SNMPv1 with the corresponding community string (Test). And
this was working fine. Later, I have changed only the SNMP version to V2,
because the community name is same (Test). After this I cannot able to
browse the device. But with V1 its accessible.Scenario 2 I configured the
router with SNMPv2 first and then I configured SNMPv1. By doing this, I can
able to browse the router with SNMPv2 Community string but not with SNMPv1
community string. So, if I configure same community string for two versions
(v1 and v2), the one which is configured first is getting worked but
the second gets failed. Can any one tell me what could be the problem if I
configure same Community String for SNMPv1 and SNMPv2?-Thanking you All in
AdvanceMadhan
