These are not really anything to do with SNMP.
"make" is the standard Unix mechanism for structuring the building of
complex software packages.

"make clean" is the universal convention for removing the intermediate
results of compiling the software (and may or may not remove the final
binaries as well).

"make distclean" and/or "make realclean" are less universal, but are common
conventions for removing both the intermediate results, final binaries, and
any build configuration settings (e.g. the data gathered by "configure").

The basic idea here is "make clean" gets you back to the state immediately
after you first ran "configure", while "make distclean" gets you back to the
state immediately after unpacking the software in the first place.
