I thought a MIB text file was not "required" at all (other than to generate 
code), however, if you wanted an agent to display the results of a SNMP request 
using the true text fields defined in the MIB (rather than displaying OID 
numbers only) then the actual MIB text file would be required.

Knowing that my MIB is going to be controlled by a subagent, I wanted to be 
sure that performing SNMP requests would result in better looking displays.  I 
do not think a subagent would use the "snmpd.conf" file to determine the 
location of the MIB files via the "mibs" line, so I was wondering how a 
subagent would do this?  Can a subagent have it's own "xxxx.conf" somewhere?  
However, based on your reply to this email, perhaps subagent's never utilize 
the actual MIB file for some reason.

Perhaps you can explain why you think the subagent
needs to use the NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB file at all?
