In our build environment all third party applications are compiled together
with our main C++ code using the same mips g++ compiler. This is how they have
integrated other types of third party apps and this is how they want to
integrate NetSNMP so they can maintain an all inclusive build (ie: everything
gets built at one time) philosophy. Basically they do not want to have to
build NetSNMP first and then build the rest of our environment once NetSNMP has
been built successfully.
Are there problems with using a C++ compiler for NetSNMP, other than these
types of compiler errors I am experiencing? I find myself fixing a lot of
"casting" compiler errors as well.

Why are you using a C++ compiler? There should also be a C cross
compiler which is supposed to be better suited for a C-based project
like Net-SNMP.
