When I perform the "configure" command I provide a "--prefix=/usr/local" option
value to indicate the NetSNMP package should be installed into "/usr/local"
after it has been cross-compiled and I run "make install". After this occurs,
I can copy the files I need to my target hardware box and place them in the
same directory tree structure as was used in the "configure" command and
eveything works fine.

I am just wondering whether it would be possible somehow to have "configure"
install the package contents to some other directory (ex:
--prefix=/mynew/dirpath/usr/local) and then have me copy over the files into
the standard "/usr/local" location on the target hardware box.

Basically, must the install directory locations match on the host machine as
well as the target machine all the time or is there a way to install to a new
location on the target hardware box?
