Dear Sir! I'm sorry that I'm asking the question in this manner and disturbing your work. I would be very grateful if you could help me with any information concerning the problem.
The question is about transferring SNMP requests over serial lines (using usual COM-port) by means of AgentX protocol. Neither RFC 2741 nor RFC 1157 couldnt discover anything and I dont know where I can find decision. We have Linux installed on PowerPC platform, and SNMP agent working on it. It is necessary to pass SNMP requests from the SNMP agent over, for example, ttyS0 device, to small ARM-based system. Is it possible using AgentX technique or somehow else? Of course, I can communicate with the ARM from subagent procedure, which is called every time when SNMP request is coming. But PowerPC SNMP agent knows very few about contents of ARM MIB. Moreover, another ARM system can have different MIB tree. Would you help me with any answer please.
