I've just passed this MIB through the on-line "smilint" interface
(http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/bin/smitools.cgi).
   It threw up a dozen or so warnings, but no errors, and it was
quite happy with the ipMIBCompliance2 definition.

The libSMI people are the acknowledged experts on SMI syntax,
and if a MIB passes through smilint without errors, I'm inclined
to think that it's probably valid.
   Not that I'm casting aspersions on your understanding of the
SMI specs, but given a choice between you and Frank/Jurgen,
I think I'll go with the Braunschweig crowd!
