For what it's worth, I've wanted to add this support as well but haven't
had time.  What I envision would be a generic config token that would
handle any MIB that uses the caching mechanism...  something like:

setCacheTimer ifTable 4

The ifTable would actually be an OID used to lookup the cache pointer
(and hope that the coder made the entry match the table).

The trick would be to modify the value at the right time, which would
likely need to be after completion of the init routines at least.  So it
could possibly be done right at config reading time, or it might have to
be registered to happen later via a callback...
