The thing is that we don't _know_ what is causing this particular problem.
You haven't given us much information about exactly what triggers the
crash - is it just querying one particular table?  - if so, which one?
is it just 'snmptable', or does 'snmpwalk' have the same effect?
What version of SNMP are you using?  How is the agent configured?


We're not necessarily suggesting that you must upgrade all of your
production systems.   But it would be sensible to at least try the same
setup with a newer release on a test system - if only to check whether
the problem still exists or has since been fixed.
