Hi,

On my host I’m
using legacy snmp (internally developed by our team) which lacks IPv6
functionality.  In order to circumvent this, I’d like to use net-snmp
agent which supports IPv6 and adding new MIBs at ease.  Could you please
let me know how to run my legacy snmp as sub-agent of net-snmp agent?

In other
words, net-snmp agent listens & responds to snmp requests while working with
its sub-agent i.e. legacy snmp, to process & retrieve the MIB
information.  With this implementation, I’d achieve IPV6
functionality and any further development i.e. adding any new MIBs can be
directly
done using net-snmp while re-using my legacy snmp code.

Would running
legacy snmp as sub-agent of net-snmp agent require any code changes in my code?
Or could it be done with configuring net-snmp agent?  If so, please
suggest me the approach.

Any help would
be highly appreciated.

Thanks in
advance,

KrishnaMohan
