hello folks of the development of net-snmp
I have encountered a problem with the values of cpu utilization on
multiprocessor SOLARIS servers.
we are using net-snmp 5.4.2 on solaris 10 servers and forward the data to
a monitoring system using the software ZENOSS.
On SOLARIS multiprocessor systems, the CPU utilization ( as reported by
ZENOSS with values delivered by net-snmp ) exceeds sometimes 100 % !!
E.g. on a 4 cpu (or 4 core) system with 50 % cpu usage reported by "top"
or "sar", the cpu utilization in the ZENOSS graph is 200% !
If the standard snmp client on SUN's SOLARIS is used, the value is
displayed correctly with 50 %.
It seems as if the reported cpu utilization has to be divided by the
number of cores or cpus of the system.
I also tried newer or later versions of net-snmp, the all have the same
attitude.
Can you please help me with a source fix or at least with a hint what to
do?
Thanks in advance!
Yours sincerely
