Hello,
I am running a net-snmp 5.5 agent in a linux PC. I had not configured the
snmpd service to return any specific value for sysServices object. When I do
an SNMP v2c GET for the sysServices.0 (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.7.0) object (using
a commercial MIB browser applicaiton), I get a *'noSuchInstance'* error.
Here I expect a *'noSuchObject'* error as the sysServices is a scalar object
(referred RFC1905 section 4.2.1). A GET request for entLastChangeTime.0
(OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.4.1) however returns noSuchObject error as expected.
Query details are given below:
[Query Parameters]
Type = Scalar (2)
sysServices (RFC1213-MIB) = 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.7.0
entLastChangeTime (ENTITY-MIB) = 1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.4.1.0
[Query Results]
Response Status = 2 instance(s) retrieved
sysServices.0 (INTEGER) = noSuchInstance
entLastChangeTime.0 (TimeStamp) = noSuchObject
Could anyone please help me understand the reason for the noSuchInstance
error? Thank you!
Regards,
Tony
