Hello,

Trying to set an integer32 type MIB object implemented by an AgentX
subagent, using a third party MIB browser, with syntax “nsapaddr” results in
SNMP request timeout and *snmpd* no more responding. The only way to recover
is to kill *snpmd* and start again. Packet capture indicates that the SET
request reaches master agent, however corresponding AgentX SET PDUs was not
sent to sub agent.

Meanwhile, the same test on *sysLocation* object implemented by
*snmpd*returns a “wrongType” error. In both tests, the value tried was
“123”.

The problem was noticed during the random testing of the agent. Is there any
known issue related to “nsapaddr””?

AgentX master and sub agent are running on a Debian Linux PC, built using
Net-SNMP v 5.5. MG-Soft MIB browser running on Windows PC.

Reference: NsapAddress type – section 7.1.10 of RFC 1442.

Regards,

Tony
