The structure of MIB files is an Internet standard - it's not specific
to the Net-SNMP project. In fact, our parser is relatively forgiving,
and will accept MIB files that are not strictly correct.
If you want to validate your MIB file, then you should probably use a
stricter checking tool, such as "smilint". There is an online interface
to this at

Please note that neither of these tools have any connection to
the Net-SNMP project. You should not contact them about
problems specific to our code, or ask us about issues with these
