I have these Redhat boxes that are running xen virtualization. The Virtual's
underneath, attach to a virtual bridge (vif.0, vif.1, etc) inside the Redhat
Host OS. I use a network management system that compares mac tables and arp
tables to draw physical connections between systems.
What I need to do is be able to discover the Host with a "bridge" probe, and
the VM guests with a "system" probe. My problem is that the probes are invoked
based on the sysobjectid. I need to be able to change the sysobjectid on
the HOST Redhat systems, so that it does not match the virtuals sysobjectid.
Default sysobjectid
OID: NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpAgentOIDs.10
Or translated,
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10
-----------------------------------------------------
What I would like to be able to do is change it to
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8073.3.2.10
For the Host Linux systems
How do I modify the snmp agent to get it to report a different enterprise
number?
