Remember that 5.3.x is due to be closed down in the fairly near future
(given that 5.6 is now out).  So that would only leave the 5.4.x line.

I'm semi-tempted to suggest that we upgrade that line to use 2.63,
to match the other branches (or even bring everything up to 2.68,
if that's what we decide to use for trunk).   Having to maintain several
versions of autoconf in parallel is something of a pain.
