So it seems like the de-registration code needs to check for any outstanding
requests that are being processed to see if the objects are affected, and if
so, set their error code appropriately...

Please submit a bug report, and it would be very helpful if you had a
way to consistently reproduce the problem (say a minimal sub-agent example that
would de-register itself when it got a set request).
