Hello,

Good morning! I just downloaded and started getting familiar with net-snmp
which seems to be a great tool. I am learning snmp and computer networking at
the same time, thus I am having some difficulties understanding all the
concepts. One of the things missing is the destination. For example, if I
want to talk to a router, which IP address do I use? I believe a router has 2
addresses, an IP address and a MAC IP address. Also, how do I overcome any
protection or passwords on my own router? I have several questions but I will
start with this one. What I am trying to do is get the name and status of the
router. I hope this is the correct email address.

Thank you and please do keep up the good work.
