Thanks for the suggestion.
In my case, I'd spawn the killed process again, so the proc and monitor
might not catch the instance.
Could I use the DisMan Event MIB to generate the trap in my monitoring
process?

The simplest would be to use the "proc" directive to monitor the process
of interest,  and the "monitor" directive (or "defaultMonitors) to
trigger a
trap when this falls over.

See the sections "Process Monitoring" and "DisMan Event MIB" in the
snmpd.conf(5) man page for details.
