The normal approach is to configure the agents in essentially the same way, so that one username/password in the manager can be used for talking to multiple agents. There are alternative approaches, looking at building on external authentication mechanisms, but these are very new, and somewhat experimental. If you are just starting out with SNMP, I'd recommend that you start with the standard, well established security model. Don't try to run before you can walk!
