This is not related to net-snmp, but general RMON MIB query regarding the SNMP
object eventCommunity in
RMON MIB, From the RFC, it seems to me that this is used while sending
traps only to those trap receivers, if the community string is configued
as eventCommunity.
eventCommunity OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX OCTET STRING (SIZE (0..127))
MAX-ACCESS read-create
STATUS current
DESCRIPTION
"If an SNMP trap is to be sent, it will be sent to
the SNMP community specified by this octet string."
::= { eventEntry 4 }
As SNMPv3 does not have community string as part
of TRAP PDU, does it mean that the traps for RMON will not be sent to
snmpv3 configured trap receivers?, or this object interpretation is different?
