Hi All,

I see from the man page for the snmpusm application, that usage is limited to 
the SNMPv3 protocol (which makes sense):

"Manipulating the usmUserTable using this command can only be done using 
SNMPv3. This command will not work with the community-based versions, even if 
they have write access to the table"

Does anyone know if there is a similar exclusion within the SNMP agent itself 
to prevent community based access to objects in snmpUsmMIB? In other words, can 
new SNMPv3 users be defined via SNMPv1 or v2c using the USM MIB? If this is 
prevented, could you please point me to the specific piece of code which 
prevents the access.
