I don't know that it's been tried yet, but I suppose it might work. I don't really recommend it, but you can try it and see. The code generated by the mib2c.scalar.conf config won't deal with indexes, so you'll have to manage that yourself. Keep in mind that since you are trying to do it completely differently that the expected way, you're more likely to have trouble finding someone to help you if you have issues.
