We don't have a good proposed timeline. So let's come up with one:
+ We could release 5.8.1.pre3 this week
+ (and people should test it)
+ We could then freeze development in that branch and shift into
release mode
+ Push 5.8.1.rc1 next week and start "really freezing"
Is there consensus that 5.8.1 is "ready" to really lock down. It's
certainly beyond time it gets out the door.
