Hi everyone, sorry to bother you with those newbie questions.

I just downloaded net-snmp 5.1.1, compiled it under Win32 and now going through the tutorial. I am trying to get snmptranslate -Tp to show me the OID tree that would include some MIB files that are not part of the net-snmp/mibs directory, so far without success.

I set the MIBDIRS env.var to point to a directory where I stored all of the MIB files (d:/snmp/mibs), the ones from net-snmp/mibs and the ones I want to add to that list.

When I run:

    snmptranslate -Tp

The tree shown only contains the OID of the files that came with net-snmp, nothing else.

I am using : Win XP-Pro, Visual Studio 6. Active State Perl.
I compiled using the perl configure script, without open SSL.

Do I have to compile something else (my MIB files) to be able to test other MIB files with net-snmp or do I simply need to copy the MIB files inside the directory pointed to by MIBDIRS ?

Let me know if there is a document that would explain this further.

Thanks in advance!

Pierre
