Hi Dave, Steve, everyone,

regarding the logging feature the 5.1.2.pre3 code behaves
like the 5.1.1 one, but I have found the solution:

Calling './snmpd -Lsd' doesn't overwrite the configure option
'with-logfile'. That means the configure option has to be set
to 'with-logfile="none"' if you want to log only to syslog.

Error message (line 1047 in snmp_logging.c) doesn't appear anymore.

Thanks for your help.

Marco.

Can somebody tell me how to start the agent if all error
and warning messages should only be sent to syslog ?

Calling './snmpd -Lsd'

doesn't work (Log file is written too)

I've just tried that with the current 5.1.x code
(what will shortly be released as 5.1.2), and this
seems to work as expected. The only output is
that logged via syslog.

Can you please try with the 5.1.2.pre3 tarball
(available from the project website), and see if
that's any better.

If not, please indicate exactly which file(s)
the erroneous output appears in.

Dave
