configure is just picking up the wrong 'install' -- temporarily remove '/unicenter/em/tape/scripts' from your PATH - I think you'll need to re-run configure so it either figures out the real 'install' or will know to use the install-sh that comes with the package.

Dear all,

I am trying to install Net-SNMP on a Unix server where Unicenter TNG is already
installed.

Following instructions provided in Net-SNMP install notes, I successfully performed the "make" and
"make test", but when I log on as root to execute "make install", we have the following result:

agent/sup01/download/net-snmp-5.1.1>su
Password:

# pwd

/users/applix/m1z/agent/sup01/download/net-snmp-5.1.1
# /usr/ccs/bin/make install
creating directory /users/applix/m1z/agent/sup01/include/net-snmp
mkdir /users/applix/m1z/agent/sup01/include
mkdir /users/applix/m1z/agent/sup01/include/net-snmp
/unicenter/em/tape/scripts/install -c -m 644 ../include/net-snmp/version.h
/users/applix/m1z/agent/sup01/include/net-snmp/version.h
The Tape Management component of Unicenter TNG consists
of several components, including client and server modules.

If a TMS database will reside locally on this machine,
then this machine should be designated as a Unicenter TNG
Tape Server node.

If the TMS database will not reside on this machine,
but will instead reside on a remote machine, then this
machine should not be configured as a Unicenter TNG
Tape Server node.

Will this be a Unicenter TNG Tape Server Node?
(y/n) (default: y)
n

and this continues like this for all includes, making file system full and asking a question for each include to install !

In our development environment, where TNG is not installed, the line in bold would be:
./install-sh -c -m 644 ./include/net-snmp/version.h
/users/applix/m1z/agent/sup01/include/net-snmp/version.h
and everything would be ok....

We don't understand why /unicenter/em/tape/scripts/install appears, because it's nowhere in the net-snmp dowlnload directory (Makefile, libtool...) and in environment variables.

Did you already encountered such a problem ? Does this mean we have to unistalla TNG, then install Net-SNMP and reinstall TNG ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best Regards,
