But William, if you have a look at the script that Steve posted,
you'll see that it *does* include this parameter:

./configure --host=arm-linux            \
        --target=arm-linux              \
                :
        --with-endianness=big           \               <=====
                :

So either this is the wrong parameter to use (?unlikely), or configure
is not setting things up correctly.   Either way, this could do with
further investigation.
