Well, I'd have to imagine that there are good reasons that it hasn't been done
til now. If the reason is simply that nobody's done it til now, the patch would
very likely be accepted. If there are other, more complex issues, then the
patch would have to address them.
While I don't see a strong requirement to *immediately* write the
persistent file (with usmUser lines) after reading it (with createUser
lines), I do see a need to be able to force the agent to save the
persistent file *on request*, e.g. by a MIB setting. Otherwise,
long-running (like: production) agents run into the risk of losing all
of the persistent information (e.g. all manipulations of the
usmUserTable!) upon a crash. Any objections against adding such a
functionality? (This has been requested before, IIRC.)
