Does anyone have any experience with configuring the Cisco 2621 router (IOS: 12.1) to
send snmp informs to snmptrapd?
I followed the procedures describe here:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1831/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00800ca66b.html#28293
but somehow it's not syslog'ed on the server that's running snmptrapd.
I was able to send snmpinform from another server successfully.
Welcome to the club :(
Searching the Cisco bug database for "SNMP" and "inform" is enlightening
in terms of:
- there are known bugs and deficiencies, e.g. there's still no way
to set the source address of the INFORM (trap-source doesn't do it,
although documentation says otherwise, see CSCdz50497)
- it doesn't work reliably and/or for everyone
Go figure. Or better: complain to Cisco.
