Correct.
That particular document was written describe the old v4 MIB
API, which has now been deprecated in favour of the newer v5
"handler-based" approach.
An equivalent (and improved) version for the current toolkit
would be a Very Good Thing.

Sure - go right ahead.
I'd probably suggest you start afresh, rather than try to shoehorn
extra stuff into the existing AGENT.txt file. I'm inclined to leave
that pretty much as it stands, and develop new documentation to
complement it.
(Thanks for pointing out the typo - I seem to have a blind
spot over dependency vs dependancy! Now fixed)

The reason I've basically disappeared from these lists is to try
and concentrate on finishing my book. That will cover this sort
of thing in *MUCH* greater depth (and has helped me realise quite
how much pre-existing knowledge the AGENT.txt file assumes).

But there's definitely a role for intermediate-level documentation,
which provides a rather fuller description than AGENT.txt stuff,
while not going overboard as the stuff I'm doing does.
(Not to mention the difference between free and paid-for!)

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Dave

PS: One final request - would it be possible to stick to a single
subject line for any given query. Having to piece together
several separate messages with different subjects does tend to
    add to the support load.
It doesn't bother me, since I'm not answering questions on
the lists at the moment, but I note that it's already confused
Robert. Just a suggestion - Thanks.
