The implementation of the if{Admin,Oper}Status objects
has always been somewhat dubious (dating right the way
back to the original CMU code). If you check the file
'interface.c', you'll see that ifOperStatus is linked
to the IFF_RUNNING flag.
Try doing an 'ifconfig' on the interface concerned - what
does that report? In particular, is it marked as RUNNING?
I'm not sure whether Robert's new IF-MIB implementation
has finally started to address this problem, but it's
certainly something that's long overdue some attention.
