Thanks Robert for the patch, but I couldn't get it to work.
I downloaded the latest CVS source and applied the patch (patched file attached)

I still have memory usage growing out of control.

I am taking a look at snmptt and applying some modifications to the code for my 
own needs (as a stop gap!)

I just tracked this down, and here is a quick patch to get around the problem
til a real fix is found...
