Hi Robert, I whipped out the old software, then untar the 5.2.1, before config, I edited the snmptrapd.c changed the agentx_subagent = 0 as said in the patch. Then I follow the installation procedure - configure, make, sudo make install Then bring up the trapreceiver (snmptrapd & another java process) I looked the snmptrapd initially loaded was 5176K(size), 3608K(res) on 15:13:37 but now it grows up to 16M(size) and 15M(res) on 15:57:55. It is still growing in memory.
As I stated before, the flag may be has to do with the size of the program, but program should not keep on growing. And another thing I found is, before we did not change the flag, the memory grew to 30M(size) then 28M(res) then stop to grow, >From 6/14 loaded then reached to 30M 28M (same day) until today 6/16 is still 30M 28M, I do not know what is this magic number, the traps still coming in seconds. Is that mean, going to coredump soon ? or the program decide not to consume more memory ? This is very strage. Please advise. Thanks.
