Depending on which groups you want and which groups your devices support, RMON gives you a lot more than counters. You can configure events and alarms with thresholds such that you don't need to poll at all; if RMON senses an error, it will throw you a trap. And you can configure periodic snapshots, so that instead of needing to poll and sense as events happen, you can have RMON generate snapshots for you, which you can download later at your leisure. - Morty ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-users mailing list [email protected] Please see the following page to unsubscribe or change other options: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
