Hi all,

I have an application which has a subagent embedded within it to talk to snmpd.
The problem is that I need to implement the SNMP-TARGET and SNMP-NOTIFICATION
MIBs within the subagent itself, rather than the master agent, since that's
where the data needs to reside. In the actual sending of traps and informs,
however, the only method that I can think of to use the data from the MIBs in
order to select the trapsinks is to send the traps directly from the subagent,
bypassing the master agent entirely. Is this the only way to do this, or am I
missing something? There are surely some security issues involved in bypassing
the master agent, but I'm not very clear on what they might be at this point.
Can anyone shed any light on the issue?

Thanks,
Anna
