The most recent release is 5.2.1.2
Other sensible alternatives would be 5.1.3.1 or 5.0.10.2

5.0.1 is a *very* old and unreliable version.
Almost any upgrade would be an improvement.

If you've compiled from source, then you're best off
removing this completely, and doing a full re-install.

That sounds suspiciously as if you're picking up a pre-installed
version of the SNMP agent - probably the one that comes as part
of RedHat.   See whether "rpm -q net-snmp" shows anything installed.

Alternatively, have a look at how you configured the source tree
when first compiling the software.  If you explicitly specified
a prefix of /usr, then the agent will be looking there.

But the more likely explanation is that you're picking up a
RedHat-supplied agent, rather than your own compiled version.
