Hi,

I had this also. I think it's fiarly common. First of all, ignore the instructions to call the Makefile.PL directly and try rebuilding the whole thing from scratch at the top level... But when you do ./configure, give it the --with-perl-modules flag. This probably won't fix it, but worth a try. Assuming it doesn't fix it, you probably need to add something to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH. For me it was just /usr/local/lib, but I know others have needed to add other directories, depending on the OS you're using, what shared libraries it is that the perl script needs etc.
