With the latest (5.3) release, there are a set of utility routines
"netsnmp_query_get()" and similar. If you include a config directive
iquerySecName someUser
(and create/configure access for that user), you can use
netsnmp_query_get( varbind, NULL );
to make an internal (callback) query for the specified varbind.
See the (new) DisMan Event-MIB and Schedule-MIB implementations
for more complete examples of this in use.
