I'm afraid you'll probably have to.
I've just unpacked a fresh 5.3.0.1 tarball,
done a basic default configure, and compiled everything.

With no snmptrapd.conf file, I get the usual access
control warning.  With an snmptrapd.conf file containing
*just*  "disableAuthorization yes" - nothing else - then
it starts up quite happily.

I'm stumped - sorry.
