For those of you whom read this and are simply put off by the FAQ entry, fear
not. The Perl Net::SNMP module is different then the Perl NetSNMP library
which has the SNMP module (the newer one):

You will find this FAQ entry much more useful that the one earlier in this
thread. Keep in mind that if you're using RedHat (possibly Fedora?) packages
that this library (NetSNMP/SNMP.pm) comes in the net-snmp-perl package. The
Net::SNMP module comes in the perl-Net-SNMP package and is not nearly as
supported by the Net-SNMP crowd.
