Hi Dave, The requirement is that I also want to send alarms for even Memory and disk utilization. The alarms should also have the severity information like major, critical .... Also, I want to send a clear the alarms to any alarm generated whenever the the thresholds are safe(I guess I will need to have a ID for alarms for this requirement). So what I wanted to ask if there are any net-snmp built-in MIBS which I can use to generate alarm and clear alarms of this type.

You should be able to use the load average information (UCD-SNMP-MIB::laTable) to set up suitable monitoring. Try something like monitor "load" laLoadInt > 200 which should trigger an error whenever any of the three load average figures rises above 2.00 Note that using the monitor directive does require a couple of other settings as well. See the snmpd.conf(5) man page for details. Dave ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems?
