See the snmpd.conf(5) man page - in particular, the directive
'agentxPingInterval'

The problem about sending a trap in this situation, is that an
AgentX subagent would normally pass the trap to the master agent.
If it's lost connection with the master agent, this might be
a bit difficult!

You'd have to construct the trap and manually send it to an
appropriate trap sink.
