Thanks. Any comments on the rest?
 
Also, I've tried starting the snmpd process with the "-Dmte" and "-D" options, but there is no output. The process simply starts.

Yes.
You should see three copies of each notification (as an SNMPv2c
INFORM request), being sent every time.
