Hello,

I am having terrible trouble compiling 5.3.0.1 for the powerpc (using x86 laptop) using the ELDK 4.0. It appears to compile fine using the ELDK 3.1.1. When compiling under the ELDK 4.0, files (libraries) from the /usr (instead of the ELDK) files are pulled in and the build fails. The CFLAGS for the Makefiles produced using the ELDK 4.0 includes '-I/usr/include/rpm' where the Makefiles produced using the ELDK 3.1.1 do not.

5.2.2 compiles and executes just fine using the ELDK 4.0 and 3.1.1. I have tried comparing the 'configure' scripts but did not turn anything up. If I put the ELDK 3.1.1 in my path, run configure, then switch my path back to the ELDK 4.0 and compile, it works as well. I also tried the latest pre-release and it behave the same as 5.3.0.1.

Is there a new setting I am missing...or a patch...any insight is greatly appreciated...it is driving me nuts!

Thanx,

dg
